Do You Know This Three Underrated Phenomenal Female Athletes ?
Women's now a days have the most opportunities ever and this applies for sports too. Women fought their way towards equality and opportunity to participate in all the sorts of sports that men do.
There are several female sporting legends have been inspiring thousands of young girls in the country to follow their dreams fearlessly.
But there are scores of other Indian women who with their strong grit and determination are carving a niche for themselves the world over in their respective sports fields. Here I mention three phenomenal strong ladies might not be as popular and well known as their famous counterparts but that hasn't stopped them from proving their emerging victories.
Poulomi Ghatak was one of the biggest name in women's table tennis in the last couple of decades. She is one of the most successful names in Women's Table Tennis in India. She made it to the pages of history when she represented India at the 2010's Commonwealth Games held at Delhi and won silver. She has also won several laurels including a bronze at the 2006's Commonwealth Games at Melbourne.
Anjali Bhagwat.
When a decade ago in India, shooting was considered as an exclusive domain for men, and it was hard ever to imagine girls trying hands in it in spite of the fact that the Indian history has names of queens and princess who were much adapted to the sport of hunting and archery. In that era it was hardly to concider that girls could ever participate in sports. But it was 1999 when one Indian girl smashed down all those stereotypical thinkings through her indomitable performance in 10m Air Rifle Shooting at the Commonwealth Championship. When Anjali Bhagwat won three gold medals and a silver at the 1999 Commonwealth Championships, the first Indian woman to achieve the feat. Within the next five years, she was the first Indian to win a gold medal at an ISSF World Cup, the first shooter to reach an Olympic final and the first Indian to be ranked No 1 in the world.
Anjali Bhagwat didn’t settle for the ordinary and constantly pushed the bar higher, reaching finals of many international events and scooping up medals.
Khushbir Kaur.
Khusbir Kaur is an Indian athlete who specializes in 20 km racewalker. In 2008, Kaur participated in a race barefoot due to her financial problem. The athlete from Amritsar has won several medals at prestigious events and also has been awarded with Arjuna Award for her outstanding achievements in sports.
She first came into limelight after claiming a bronze medal in the 10,000 meters race walk at the Asian Junior Athletics Championships in 2012. She is the first Indian Women to bag a silver medal in race walk event at 2014 Asian Games.

We are in the age where Sania Mirza, P.V. Sindhu, Dipa Karmakar, were looked at as heroes and role models. But long before the people or the government showered successful athletes with accolades, there were women who toiled without any expectations. They toiled to bring medals for the country. Their are so many immensely talented females athletes who are doing very well in their events and that deserves our applause for their incredible achievements.
